Learn more about Dr. Benk & Atlanta Dental Center
At the Atlanta Dental Center, award-winning dentist Joel Benk has assembled a team of caring, experienced professionals and state-of-the-art technology, to provide you with the best possible tooth restoration facility. Using the latest advances in dental procedures and equipment, Dr. Benk will replace your missing or hopelessly damaged teeth with dental implants that are safe, durable and look and feel like your natural teeth.
Conventional procedures require patients to travel to multiple locations to see multiple specialists. This would normally mean more appointments and overall cost of treatment. To save you time and money, Dr. Benk uses his 33 years of experience and training to give you dental implants in one office. Dr. Benk also uses state-of-the-art technology to make the procedure precise, efficient and comfortable.
Using a cone beam CT scanner, Dr. Benk will take 3D digital X-rays of your teeth and jaw to better plan the implant surgery. The cone beam is a special X-ray machine that takes low-dosage X-rays, and captures a 360 degree view of the entire lower portion of the patient's head.
With this software, Dr. Benk can see the exact location of all the structures in the jaw and mouth area. This technology eliminates the need for more invasive exploratory methods of cutting open the jawbone for implant placement. The result is a relatively simple insertion of the implant itself usually with no bleeding, swelling or post-treatment discomfort.
With the 3D cone beam system for planning the implant procedure, Dr. Benk can determine the exact location and angle of the implant, making the best use of available jawbone while avoiding any nerves. He will create a surgical guide designed to be placed over the gums, which in turn guides the implant into the proper position in the jaw.
In the past, people with too little jawbone were considered not eligible for receiving dental implants. However, with advances in dental technology, such as the introduction of 3D X-rays, Dr. Benk is able to evaluate the jawbone more thoroughly. In addition, bone grafting techniques allow Dr. Benk to augment low bone levels making implant placement possible.
Absolutely not. Dr. Benk can actually combine dental implants with other methods of restoration. In fact, using dental implants to support dentures or dental bridges has become the modern method of effective replacement of missing teeth.
With modern technology, Dr. Benk is able to extract your teeth (as needed) and then place your new dental implants and chosen method of restoration all in the same day!
Dr. Benk has spent hundreds of hours perfecting his techniques for implant placement and restoration. He is a highly trained dentist, with over 33 years of experience — he has been working with dental implants since the late 80's!
Dr. Benk also works with experienced professionals in the field of dentistry. He has studied and trained under some of the most renowned leaders in the field of dental implantology.
"I have been coming to Dr. Benk for over 25 years. During the six years I lived in Europe I actually flew out so Dr. Benk could work on my teeth and be my dentist. When I needed a dental implant, Dr. Benk and I sat down and talked about it. He clearly defined the procedure, giving me all the information up front. We worked through the process together. The technology itself is amazing and there was no pain involved with the implant. I’m extremely pleased with the results."
